Houston, we have a problem.

Wow, look at this awesomely cool sweater! It’s all blocked and complete!

But wait, why is Gail so sad?

Maybe its because she’s wearing the sweater she knit for Aimee the Sis? And Aimee the Sis is like 5’2 and 98 pounds, and Gail is 4’10 and 145? And the sweater is fitting Gail?

I swear to god, I knit the size small, which has a bust of 39 inches. I carefully blocked it to 39 inches. That sweater should not be fitting me.

But, in good news, the sleeves are going to be right, and I think the lace top is not going to hit at nipple level (which it is periously close to doing to me in that picture). Of course, it’ll be a baggy mess, but that’s okay.

In other annoying news, I’m wearing loose sweatpants, and I STILL have a muffin top. What the hell. It’s all my Mom’s fault, I want you to know. Damn body shape.

Wait! You know that those italians are fabulous designers. Maybe its like the traveling pants, which fit everyone no matter what. It’s the traveling sister sweater of LOVE.

The sweater looks really pretty! I guess it seems odd though that the pattern size small would have a 39″ chest, when it’s supposed to be a somewhat form fitting sweater. The pattern writer is certainly at fault for the larger-than-expected fit. You did a lovely job knitting it! Hopefully it will still fit Aimee fine, even if it’s a little roomy through the chest.

It’s a beautiful sweater. You have a very cute 2 year old pouty look too!

The sweater has stretch so perhaps it’ll have cling too and be just right on Aimee. My fingers and toes are crossed.

I think it will look fine on Aimee. Is it supposed to be oversized?

Hey, it’s signsoflife. I’d call 39″ a comfortably loose fit on *me*, and I’m 5’8″ and 170+lbs. I’ll betcha that that was just the smallest size they could calculate for the pattern for some reason (integrating the raglan with the lace?), and so they called it “small”.

I agree with Lucia — adorable two-year old expression.

It’s hard to say if it’s going to be ok or not. You and Aimee are both petite in stature, so as you said the sleeve length will be fine for her. I reckon it will be fine for her overall, but of course it all comes down to chest, shoulder, and belly measurements which can’t be inferred from height and weight.

You did a really nice job and it looks great!
