I am SO not talking to her.
So, I come out of retirement, right, to do this Knitting Olympics thing? Mainly because Katie wanted to. And we practice. And we train. She’s gotten good at sitting on my lap without sitting on the yarn, my project, or the directions. And its crunch time - other human/cat pairs have finished. Every second counts. And what does she do?

SHE SITS ON THE PATTERN.
Can I see through her furry butt? I don’t THINK SO. I pointed this out to her, and that started a MASSIVE glaring contest.

Is this the action of a kitty fully invested in our Knitting Olympic Parternship? I don’t THINK SO. So, I’m not talking to her. And she’s being all pissy, and refused to even LOOK at me as I walked past. She should just apologize. I can’t believe she SAT on the directions.
We’ll be lucky to finish at this rate, with her evil furry butt sitting on the instructions ways. How am I supposed to finish the sleeves if I don’t know how long they are supposed to be? Huh? Huh?

February 22nd, 2006 at 3:59 pmOh how I can relate!! It’s too much for me to kick the cat off or I usually say “can you please move”. At least I have manners, but Simba doesn’t listen to me. I usually sit there and wait for him to move or I tilt my head so I can see part of the directions. I feel your pain.

February 22nd, 2006 at 4:36 pmOh my!
It’s difficult to dislodge a cat. I’ve been known to go to the computer and print out a fresh copy when cats decide to sit on patterns. What else is there to do?

February 22nd, 2006 at 5:33 pmI’ve got one who has to sit on my knitting and lean on me in such a way as to make it almost impossible for me to knit, and the other one…well, the other one’s the tortie and she just cheers me on.
I heart torties. Maybe you can look at it this way…she’s making sure you don’t LOSE the pattern??? No? Well, I tried…

February 22nd, 2006 at 7:39 pmAlexei will occasionally sit next to me and knit, but usually will just jump on my lap and push his head under my hands until I drop what I’m doing and pet him. So, I feel your pain, lol.
